We are delighted to welcome you to our new website and online Equestrian Shop.
Amayzing Saddlery was started by Laura in 2007 when she returned from her saddlery training at Walsall College of Technology - the cradle of saddle making in the UK. The business is named after her first horse - Mayzie who was rather special in many ways!
Initially based in a garden shed in a livery yard, she soon built up the business and moved to a small unit in Johnstone, then to a shop premises and two years ago we moved to our present address in a much larger unit in Linwood.
During that time, she continued to develop her skills as both a Saddler and Saddle Fitter, attending training on WOW saddles, Flair, bitting and bridle fitting. As a qualified Society of Master Saddlers Saddle -fitter she has grown her client base to cover large areas of central and southern Scotland from Dundee to Dumfries. She supplies and fits a wide range of new saddles both from stock and made to measure and also secondhand saddles. Amy has been training as a saddle fitter with Laura for three years and now is fitting in her own right, gaining practical experience and honing her skills to qualify next year.
As the business has grown, so have the services we offer - rugwashing and repair, saddle and tack repairs and general leatherwork and repairs. We now have a large retail shop selling a wide range of equestrian products from lotions and potions, treats, riding gear, stable gear , tack and rugs. Nicola joined us a couple of years ago bringing her experience and extensive knowledge for her previous retail position with Derby House. She keeps a keen eye on new products and ranges to make sure we can offer and exciting retail experience. Our new online shop will enable our clients from around central Scotland and others outside of our area to buy our products and benefit from our special offers.
Emma has joined us as an apprentice through the QUEST scheme and has wowed us all with her developing stitching skills. She is training to be a saddler and bridle maker - check out the leatherwork pages to see some of her beautiful work.
Hollie deals with bookings which for such a large area can be very demanding. Because of the number of inquiries we get, it is important to text us with your requests - that way we have a written record of your needs and information. The number is 07968720998.
Frances, Laura's mum, has a go at most things and tries to keep on top of paperwork and accounts as well as repair rugs and run leathercraft lessons. - rather a busy retirement from her previous career in education.
Rhonda works on the accounts and keeps up with payments etc - an essential part of the business.
